Flattr is a startup social net site from Sweden which is supported by donated sums from its viewers–as small as two pounds per month. A user which has an account gains access to the site content and when they find something they like, they hit the “reward” the content provider button. At the end of the month the user’s monthly fee is split equally between the content creators that were flattered. Clicking more does not add to your monthly fee, it just divides is more. This model encourages participation, since in order to earn money, you have to create content. In addition, content providers need to pay in a small amount to participate. website is at http://flattr.com/
