SOME PLANTS REMOVE INDOOR POLLUTION

plantSome plants have the ability to considerably reduce indoor pollutants, according to a new research study at The University of Georgia. Researchers showed that certain species remove organic compounds,which cause serious diseases including asthma, cancer, reproductive and neurological disorders and more than 1.6 million deaths per year according to the World Health Organization. The dangerous compounds emanate from furnishings, carpets, plastics, cleaning products, drywall and paint. Of the 28 plants tested, five had the highest rates of contaminant removal: 1)purple waffle plant;
2)English ivy;3) variegated wax plant; 4)Asparagus fern and 5) Purple heart plant.
