IODINE SUPPLEMENT SAID TO BOOST CHILD BRAIN FUNCTION

iodineA study published in the Oct 2009 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that iodine supplements boost mental functions in children who have a mild deficiency of the nutrient. Iodine is a trace element needed for normal growth and development of the brain and it comes from food including seafood, dairy products, plant based foods and iodized salt. Iodine deficiency can cause mental impairment in children.
