Gamer is a science fiction thriller in which the players can control human death row prisoners in mass-scale death matches. An inmate who wins 30 rounds gains his freedom.
The film is one of several probing the growing power and influence of video games on society and their future. Some multiple player game companies have between 10-20 million fans and with a growth rate of over 20%. The film, shot in New Mexico in 53 days, features Gerald Butler, Kyra Sedgwick and John Leguizamo.
