Brown rice, a whole grain is high in fiber and nutrients. Eating white rice increases the risk for diabetes, according to the study. The studies did rely on self-reported surveys. Scientists say that the brown rice eaters may benefit from the lower glycemic index of brown rice and it also contains important nutrients, especially magnesium that are stripped in the refining process.</p>
